Sponsor(s): United Jewish Community of Greater Harrisburg

Principal Investigator(s): Ira M. Sheskin

Study Dates: April-December, 1994

Sample: Adult Jewish Households in the Greater Harrisburg Area

Sample Size: 457

Sample Notes: The data were gathered from 457 individuals in households with one or more Jewish individuals via a telephone interview survey. It is estimated in the published report that there are 8,563 people (about 6,987 of whom are Jews) living in 3,200 Jewish households. The sampling universe included Jewish households located in Greater Harrisburg including the East and West shores. The sampling procedure was a combination of random digit dialing and a list of distinctive Jewish names methodologies.
Study Notes: Weighting procedures were used so that the Distinctive Jewish Name interviews resembled the RDD interviews in terms of age and synagogue membership.
