Sponsor(s): Jewish Federation of Greater Monmouth County

Principal Investigator(s): Ira M. Sheskin

Study Dates: July, 1997

Sample: Adult Jewish Households in Monmouth County, New Jersey

Sample Size: 796

Sample Notes: The data were gathered from 796 individuals in households with one or more Jewish individuals via a telephone interview survey. It is estimated in the published report that there are 72,500 people (about 65,600 of whom are Jewish) living in 26,000 Jewish households. The sampling universe included Jewish households located in all of Monmouth County: Marlboro, Freehold, Manalapan, Howell, Deal, Asbury Park, Long Branch, Highlands, Middletown, Hazlet, and Union Beach. The sampling procedure employed random digit dialing and lists of distinctive Jewish names and distinctive Sephardic names.
Study Notes: Weighting procedures were used so that the Distinctive Jewish Name interviews resembled the RDD interviews in terms of Jewish identification.
