Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando Community Study, 1993

Sponsor(s): Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando

Principal Investigator(s): Ira M. Sheskin

Study Dates: January 4-13, 1993

Sample: Adult Jewish Households in Greater Orlando

Sample Size: 671

Sample Notes: The data were gathered from 671 individuals in households with one or more Jewish individuals via a telephone interview survey. It is estimated in the published report that there are 24,413 people (of whom about 18,862 are Jews) living in 9,044 Jewish households. The sampling universe included Jewish households located in all of Orange and Seminole Counties, parts of Volusia and Osceola Counties, and the cities of Orlando, Kissimmee-St. Cloud, Maitland, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Longwood, Fern Park, Sanford, and Lake Mary. The sampling procedure was a combination of random digit dialing and a distinctive Jewish name sample of Jewish households from a telephone directory.
Study Notes: The data are weighted so that the distinctive Jewish name sample is comparable to the random digit dialing sample by age and synagogue membership.
