Sample Notes: The data were gathered from 396 interviews with Jewish persons 18 years of age or older in Jewish households in York County, Pennsylvania. A Jewish household was defined as one that contained someone who was born, raised, or is currently Jewish. It is estimated that there are 928 Jewish households in York County, Pennsylvania. The sampling universe includes the entirety of York County, Pennsylvania. Three sampling frames were used: random digit dialing (RDD), a list of Distinctive Jewish Names (DJN) from the telephone book, and a list of members from the York Council of Jewish Charities (YCJC). In all, 23 cases came from the RDD frame, 90 cases from the DJN frame, and 283 from the YCJC list.
